How to Show YouTube Video Subtitles

The YouTube application is one of the most popular video applications that has users from all over the world. In addition to containing interesting videos made by the creators, the YouTube application is also always updated with various kinds of the latest features. Perhaps, many users of the YouTube application are aware of the features of the mobile version of the YouTube application only. Then, what about the website version of the YouTube application?\

In fact, without realizing it, users of the YouTube website/site also always get the latest features. It’s just that the interface of the YouTube site is always the same, making users not aware of the latest features on the YouTube site.

THE OPEN TRANSCRIPT FEATURE ON THE YOUTUBE SITE

One of the newest features of the YouTube site is the open transcript feature. This feature serves to view the full text delivered on YouTube videos. In general, to get/view all the captions on YouTube videos we need help from other apps.

Interestingly, in addition to seeing the transcript of the text delivered in the video, this feature will also display the timeline of the sentence/text delivered in the video.

HOW TO SHOW YOUTUBE VIDEO SUBTITLES

1. Open a browser application that is already installed on your computer or laptop. After that, go to the YouTube site and search for the video you want to watch and display the transcript.

2. Once the video is open, click the three-dot icon at the bottom of the video. Then select the Open transcript menu .

3. Automatically, YouTube will display a text transcript of the video. Unfortunately, not all videos have this transcript menu. As far as I’ve tried, only Indonesian-language videos have a transcript menu. Meanwhile, for videos in foreign languages such as English, the transcript menu does not appear.

4. One of the advantages of the transcript menu, you can copy or copy one or several parts of the sentence/text from the transcript. You only need to block the required sentence or text, and then click Ctrl+C on your computer/laptop keyboard. After that, you can paste (Ctrl+V) the sentence/text in Word or Notepad. Finished.

THE FINAL WORD

With the Open transcript feature, it makes it easier for you to find out all the sentences/texts conveyed in the video. In addition, with this feature you don’t need to use any additional applications just to find out the full text in the application. You can also copy one or more pieces of text, even if a YouTube video is playing.
